I want one of these so bad. Or a thing.
No you don’t Raven. The maintenance on these is a nightmare. Being a Volkswagon owner you should know this. First you have to find people who are certified to work on these things which of course means they’re going to be able to charge more when they work on it. Second, if you have to order parts for it (and as anyone who owns a 30-40+ year old vehicle will tell you, happens often) you have to specially order them which is going to cost an arm and a leg. Also, as you can imagine its not the most economical bus and would probably only get around 20 MPG if you haven’t cleaned out your engine or done proper maintenance on it (which as stated above can be quite expensive) so prepare to pay a fortune on gas. One would think that safety might also be a concern in such an old vehicle. Finally, I’d think that parking these things would be a nightmare, especially in tight quarters, such as a parking lot. All in all I think you should stick with your Jetta.
